In the Kalinin district of the Krasnodar region, Maria Mitrofanovna Suprun marked her 100th birthday on May 31. Veniamin Kondratyev, the region's governor, took to social media platforms to express his congratulations on this significant occasion.

Born into a large family, Maria's life took a dramatic turn during World War II when her father was sent to the front, and their family farm was occupied in 1942. After the liberation of the settlement, Maria selflessly decided to serve as a nurse on the frontline.

Maria found herself in the midst of one of the war's most significant battlefields, Stalingrad. There, she demonstrated remarkable bravery, risking her life to evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield, saving countless lives of her fellow comrades. Subsequently, she took part in operations to liberate Poland, finally witnessing Victory Day.

For her unwavering dedication and heroism, Maria was honored with the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, the Zhukov Medal, various jubilee awards, and the "Excellent Sanitary Service" badge.

Upon her return to the Kuban after the war, Maria worked tirelessly in the "Oktyabr" collective farm as a field brigadier until her retirement.

Governor Kondratyev extended his warm wishes to Maria on her 100th birthday, expressing hope for her continuing good health, prosperity, and love from her family.

Although there is limited information available about Maria's specific military achievements, women played essential roles during World War II in various countries.
