Komi Republic Hosts Groundbreaking Seminar on Inclusive Cultural Practices for All Abilities

A republic-wide seminar on inclusive cultural practices recently took place in the Komi Republic. Organised at the Center for Folk Arts and Professional Development, it focused on modern methods for engaging children and adults with disabilities. Twenty-eight specialists from across the region attended the two-day event.

The seminar brought together experts from the Komi Republic, Buryatia, and the Luhansk People's Republic. They shared practical tools for adapting cultural activities to include people with health limitations. Workshops covered ensemble music-making, theatre, and choreography as ways to aid rehabilitation and social integration.

Participants also discussed how cultural programmes could support those involved in the special military operation. Ksenia Vokueva, one of the speakers, suggested closer cooperation with the Defenders of the Fatherland State Fund. The sessions included hands-on training and group discussions on innovative approaches to accessibility.

Marina Burmistrova, the region's Minister of Culture and Archives, highlighted the need for skill-sharing to build a more inclusive environment. However, no official details have been released about existing partnerships with the Defenders of the Fatherland Fund or specific new methods being implemented in Komi's cultural institutions.

The event provided specialists with new techniques for making cultural spaces more accessible. While no immediate policy changes were announced, the seminar aimed to strengthen professional networks across regions. Organisers hope the shared knowledge will lead to practical improvements in local programmes.
