Kogi State mourns the deceased Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoynbo
Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo, a beacon of inspiration to many, passed away on September 6, 2025. Born in Iyamoye, Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State, he was a worthy son of the region who left an indelible mark on the nation.
His career spanned various sectors, including banking, the Federal Civil Service, and his visionary leadership at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN). His reappointment as PSIN Administrator by the Federal Government was a testament to his dedication and the remarkable transformation he brought to the Institute.
Dr. Obatoyinbo was a mentor, a bridge-builder, and a source of inspiration to younger generations. He lived a life of service, excellence, and distinction, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and an uncommon commitment to nation-building.
His passing has been met with deep sorrow and condolences from all corners of the nation. His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State, expressed his condolences to the Obatoyinbo family, the people of Iyamoye, Ijumu Local Government, and the entire nation.
The legacy of Dr. Obatoyinbo includes service, knowledge, and values. As we mourn his loss, we are reminded of the impact he had on the lives of many and the lasting impression he left on the nation.
Mrs. Juliet Adetola Akinlade has been appointed as the successor of Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo as Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Institute of Nigeria. We look forward to the continued growth and transformation of the Institute under her leadership.
