Gear up, folks! The legendary football player, David Beckham, has earned himself the illustrious title of "Sir" in the UK. This 50-year-old powerhouse could barely contain his pride while sharing the news with the media. "I'm beyond pumped, mates! This is a monumental moment, and I couldn't be more emotional about it," he said.

Beckham received the honor of a "Knight Bachelor" in recognition of his remarkable services to the British nation, according to the King's Birthday Honours list. This year's list, announcing royal honors for King Charles III's official birthday celebrations this Saturday, has got everyone buzzing.

His stunning wife, Victoria Beckham, will now be known as "Lady Beckham", a title just as deserving for her immense contribution in the fashion world. Their love story continues to inspire, with David being her devoted knight in shining armor - now officially!

David's career boasted numerous victories, but one public favorite was winning the 1999 Champions League final with Manchester United against Bayern Munich. He was previously awarded an "Officer of the Order of the British Empire" (OBE) in 2003. In his heartfelt reflection, he shared, "Playing for my country and captaining the team was the pinnacle of my career, a dream come true."

Victoria took to Instagram to shower her husband with praise and accolades, saying, "My love, you've always been my knight in shining armor, and now it's official! Your unwavering dedication to your homeland, work, passion, and family is unparalleled. Above all, I'm overwhelmingly proud to be your partner. I adore you!"

David came close to receiving knighthood in 2014 but was overlooked, causing a media storm, especially in the tabloids. The buzz is back, as the beloved footballer, entrepreneur, and club owner professes his deep admiration for the Royal Family. After the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, David patiently queued for hours to pay his respects to the monarch at Westminster Hall.

Honors are bestowed upon individuals, based on the recommendations of the government. In total, 1,215 people have been recognized for King Charles III's official birthday celebrations this summer, with more ceremonies scheduled at the New Year. The honors often take place months later and are conducted by a member of the Royal Family, usually within one of the grandest residences. Knighthoods are often colloquially referred to as "gongs."

Notable individuals, such as actor Gary Oldman and Roger Daltrey, lead singer of the band The Who, will also receive knighthoods. Oldman, an Academy Award winner for his role in "Darkest Hour," is known for his extraordinary portrayal of Winston Churchill and Dracula.

The knighthood is the most coveted award in the UK, but there exists a range of awards below it. A "Knight Bachelor" holds no membership to an order like a "Knight Commander." Awards of lesser importance also exist.

18-year-old Luke Littler and world number one, 30-year-old Luke Humphries, were also honored for their outstanding services to darts. They can now proudly refer to themselves as "Members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire" (MBE).
