Kmart recalls *Paw Patrol* and *Bluey* sensory sets over asbestos risk

Kmart has recalled several licensed sensory activity sets after asbestos was found in the coloured sand. The affected products feature popular children’s brands like Paw Patrol, Frozen, and Bluey. Tests confirmed the presence of asbestos fibres in some samples.

The recall follows laboratory testing that detected asbestos in the coloured sand included in the sets. Branded products such as the Paw Patrol and Bluey Sensory Activity Sets are among those affected. Kmart had previously recalled other coloured sand products for the same issue.

The recall affects 684 units sold across New Zealand, with Kmart and MBIE both stressing caution. Customers are advised to check the retailer’s website for details on returning the products. Proper disposal methods are recommended to prevent any potential exposure to asbestos fibres.
