Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp Addresses Midfield Concerns and Henderson's Absence

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has expressed his views on the team's midfield performance this season and the absence of Jordan Henderson for the upcoming Merseyside derby.

In a recent press conference, Klopp stated that he does not agree with the notion that Liverpool's midfield has struggled to control games this season. He believes that setting the intensity in a game, particularly in the last one, would have made a difference, as demonstrated in the loss against Paris Saint-Germain.

Klopp's comments come after Liverpool's defeat left them outside the qualification spots in Group C. The last game for Liverpool in Group C is at home to leaders Napoli, a match that will be crucial for Liverpool's Champions League prospects.

Henderson, the captain of Liverpool, will be suspended for the derby due to his sending off in the closing stages of the win at Watford. In his absence, Klopp is confident that the other midfielders are ready for the challenge.

Three players who have not yet experienced a Merseyside Derby and could potentially fill Henderson's role are Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, and Jeremie Frimpong. These players were rested in the recent derby match Liverpool won against Everton. Klopp expressed confidence in any of these three players' ability to cope in the derby.

Klopp also addressed Liverpool's slow start in games, admitting that the team needs to improve on this aspect. He mentioned that the intense nature of the PSG game was clear from their line-up and situation.

However, Klopp appears frustrated with questions about Henderson's absence and prefers not to talk about players who are not available for the match. Fabinho, Naby Keita, and Xherdan Shaqiri are midfield players at Liverpool who have not yet played in a derby since joining the club.

Despite the challenges, Klopp remains optimistic about his midfield's readiness for the derby and is confident that as long as the other midfielders are fit, Liverpool has solutions for the void left by Henderson.
