KlangHaus Festival Celebrates 30 Years with Bold 2026 Lineup in Ulm
Ulm's KlangHaus at Stadthaus Celebrates 30 Years: A Landmark in Contemporary Music
For three decades, the KlangHaus series at Ulm's Stadthaus has brought extraordinary concert experiences to the city, pushing the boundaries of new music. From April 16 to 19, 2026, the festival will once again invite audiences to explore the diverse facets of contemporary music—from experimental soundscapes and influences of pop and club culture to European and non-European traditions.
Since its founding—originally under the title "neue musik im stadthaus" and rebranded as KlangHaus in 2020—the series has been synonymous with immersive listening experiences in a unique atmosphere. Every two years, the Stadthaus transforms into a space for unconventional sonic environments and fresh perspectives on sound. In 2026, the festival will again welcome the European Music Project (EMP) as its ensemble in residence. Comprising outstanding soloists from renowned ensembles and supplemented by high-caliber guest artists, the EMP continues to redefine contemporary performance.
Under the artistic direction of Jürgen Grözinger, the 2026 program spans everything from intimate piano works to high-energy percussion pieces. Acclaimed artists will open new dimensions of perception, inviting audiences to share in an intense, collective musical journey.
