Cranking up the action on the ETRC calendar, the Lausitzring kicked off the first of two German rounds for 2025, promising a thrilling cocktail of excitement and endurance. Local hero, Jochen Hahn, nabbed pole in Qualifying 1, igniting hopes of challenging front-runner Norbert Kiss' early-season dominance.

However, Kiss wasn't about to let up. He snatched the lead from Hahn in Race 1, powering his way to a commanding victory. He didn't stop there, repeating the feat with a lights-to-flag victory from pole in Race 3.

Hahn, still hunting his inaugural win of 2025, remained Kiss's closest threat. He finished second in both Kiss's victories, and his blazing-fast qualifying times demonstrate he's far from out of the running.

Reneé Reinert, making his series comeback on Kiss's championship-winning MAN truck, stole the show in Race 2. Starting fifth on the reverse grid, he fought his way to the front and clinched his first victory of the season in a dramatic mid-race pass on Mark Taylor.

Steffi Halm once again showcased her consistency, netting two podiums and managing to keep late pressure at bay in Race 3.

Sascha Lenz, José Eduardo Rodrigues, and Albacete were regulars in the midfield battles, with Lenz securing a Race 2 podium finish. Taylor continued to impress with his speed and racing smarts, despite focusing on Chrome class honors.

Race 4 was canned following an earlier support series crash that left oil on the track. As challenging weather conditions prolonged the uncertainty, the ETRC Race Director decided that conditions weren't safe enough to proceed, axing the final contest of the weekend.

With the second round under their belts, Kiss was sitting pretty atop the standings, bagging 105 points. Hahn trailed closely behind with 81 points, while Halm completed the top three with 65 points.[3]

The championship will be back on track at Round 3, set to take place at the Slovakia Ring on June 7-8.

Sports enthusiasts will be eagerly anticipating the next round of the Goodyear ETRC championship, as Jochen Hahn, currently trailing Norbert Kiss by 24 points, continues his hunt for his inaugural win of 2025. The series will return to action at Round 3, scheduled for June 7-8 at the Slovakia Ring.
