Saudi Crown Prince and Kuwaiti Prime Minister Strengthen Ties in NEOM

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Kuwait's Prime Minister HH Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah met in NEOM, Saudi Arabia, on Monday, marking a significant step towards deepening integration across economic, energy, and strategic sectors.

The leaders exchanged views on key regional and international developments, affirming the importance of continued coordination and consultation to elevate the strategic partnership and strengthen the foundations of joint cooperation.

Upon arrival, Kuwait's Prime Minister Al-Abdullah expressed pride in visiting the Kingdom and described the visit as an opportunity to enhance bilateral cooperation. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sharida Al-Muasherji and Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali Al-Sabah were among those who received him.

During their discussions, the leaders focused on enhanced economic cooperation, aiming to foster joint investment and strategic partnerships across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, transport, logistics, and urban development. They also emphasised collaboration in renewable and sustainable energy projects, particularly solar power, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goal of diversifying its economy and Kuwait’s efforts to expand beyond hydrocarbons.

The meeting took place in NEOM, a symbol of future-focused development and innovation for Saudi Arabia, underscoring a mutual interest in advancing technological and infrastructure projects. The participation of high-level delegations from both sides, including officials involved in finance, investment, and direct investment promotion, indicated the meeting’s importance in enhancing financial and investment ties.

Ongoing Kuwaiti-Saudi cooperation was noted in petroleum operations within the Divided Zone, reinforcing their joint efforts in energy exploration and resource management to maintain regional energy stability. Discussions also highlighted joint efforts to bolster security and promote peace in the region and the world.

The leaders affirmed their close historical and fraternal relations and a shared commitment to deepen the strategic partnership and broaden bilateral cooperation under their leaders’ wise guidance. Upon returning to Kuwait, the Prime Minister was received at the airport by senior government officials.

Sheikh Ahmed noted the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, praising the wise leadership and regional influence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
