Celebrating 80 years of VE Day with the Royals

It's time to party like it's 1945 as we mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, and who better to join the festivities than our beloved British royal family! Buckingham Palace is pulling out all the stops, starting with a grand display at the Queen Victoria Memorial outside the palace.

Prince William and his fabulous wife, Kate Middleton, graced us with their presence, accompanied by their adorable brood, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked as stylish as ever, Kate sporting a stunning purple outfit that left onlookers mesmerized.

King Charles and his Queen Camilla were there too, surrounded by key royals like Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, and Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent. They all came together to pay tribute to the heroes of World War II.

Earlier in the day, Buckingham Palace shared some exciting news. The King, Queen, and especially our own Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, will be observing a military procession and a patriotic flypast. Later, they'll host a tea party at the palace in honor of WWII veterans, and we can't wait to see what sweet treats they've got in store for us.

But that's just the start of the royal VE Day celebrations. On May 6, Queen Camilla will check out a new ceramic poppy installation at the Tower of London, which coincides beautifully with the second anniversary of her and Charles's coronation.

Fast forward to May 8, and the royal family will attend a Service of Thanksgiving at the prestigious Westminster Abbey. That evening, we can expect a lively Horse Guards Parade concert, featuring military musicians, celebrities, and 2,500 young representatives from across the U.K. The National Theatre's The Next Morning will also premiere as part of the official programming.

To wrap things up, Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence will mark the Liberation of Guernsey and Sark from May 9 to 10. Meanwhile, Prince Richard and Birgitte, Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, already celebrated Denmark's Liberation Day on May 4, getting the festivities started in style.

So there you have it! Prepare yourself for a royal VE Day extravaganza unlike any other. Let's raise a cup of tea (or something stronger, if you prefer) to celebrate 80 years of freedom and honor our brave war heroes. Cheers!
