Kim Jong Un Prioritizes North Korea's Nuclear Capabilities, Leaves Door Open for US Talks
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has emphasised the importance of bolstering the country's nuclear capabilities. During a parliamentary session on Monday, May 1st, he called for constant strengthening of the nation's 'nuclear shield and sword'.
Kim Jong Un prioritised the development of nuclear technology, stating that providing and supporting every possibility and condition for this advancement is crucial. He declared that evolving North Korea's nuclear response posture is an essential top priority task. To achieve this, the country aims to increase capacity in its nuclear material production sector.
In a surprising turn, Kim Jong Un expressed a willingness to negotiate with the USA. However, he made it clear that this would only happen if Washington abandons its demand for the disarmament of North Korea's nuclear equipment.
North Korea's commitment to its nuclear programme remains steadfast, with Kim Jong Un urging constant strengthening and prioritising nuclear technology development. Despite this, the country has left the door open for negotiations with the USA, provided Washington alters its stance on disarmament.
