Kim Bos eyes another Olympic skeleton medal in 2026 Winter Games

Dutch skeleton racer Kim Bos is aiming for another Olympic medal in the 2026 Winter Olympics. Four years ago, she made history by winning bronze—the first Olympic skeleton medal for the Netherlands. Now, she is determined to repeat that success on the world stage.

Bos first broke through at the 2020 Winter Olympics, where her bronze ended the Netherlands' long wait for a skeleton medal. The achievement marked a turning point in her career and put her among the sport's top competitors.

Germany has long dominated the event, securing six Olympic medals in skeleton—two gold, three silver, and one bronze. Hannah Neise took gold in the 2022 Winter Olympics, while Jacqueline Pfeifer claimed silver in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Bos recognises the strength of these traditional powerhouses, along with Britain, in the women's competition.

Despite the tough competition, Bos remains confident. 'I already proved four years ago that it's possible,' she said. 'I don't see why it couldn't happen again.' Her approach focuses on refining her performance rather than fixating on results. 'If I didn't believe I could win, I wouldn't be here,' she added.

Bos will enter the upcoming Winter Olympics with a clear strategy: staying focused on the process to narrow the gap on her rivals. Her past success and unwavering belief suggest she could once again challenge for a podium finish. The competition in Italy will test whether she can turn that confidence into another historic result.
