Kim A-lim Chases Second Major Title at AIG Women's Open
Kim A-lim, the South Korean golfer, is pursuing her second career major title and her fourth LPGA Tour victory overall at the AIG Women's Open. After an impressive third round, she is currently one stroke behind the leader, Miyu Yamashita, at 8-under for the tournament.
Kim A-lim showcased her formidable skills in the third round, shooting a bogey-free 5-under 67. She made five birdies and had no bogeys, with notable long-distance birdie attempts on the first and fifth holes. Kim nearly made an eagle at the par-5 13th, where she grabbed the fifth and final birdie of her round.
Kim A-lim has already achieved significant success in her career. She has won one major championship title, the 2020 U.S. Women's Open, and four LPGA Tour victories in total. Her other LPGA Tour wins include the 2024 LOTTE Championship and the 2025 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. Prior to her LPGA success, she won three events on the KLPGA Tour, including the 2018 Pak Se-ri Invitational and the 2022 KLPGA Championship.
In terms of her professional wins, Kim A-lim's achievements include one major title (2020 U.S. Women's Open), three KLPGA titles, and at least two LPGA regular tour event wins, totaling six professional wins.

The AIG Women's Open is a crucial tournament for Kim A-lim. A victory in Wales would net her $1,462,500. However, she remains focused on her own game, rather than the leader Miyu Yamashita.
Meanwhile, the 19 LPGA tournaments so far this season have produced different champions, making it the longest such streak in tour history. No other South Korean player is inside the top 10 going into the final round, with Jenny Shin being tied for 11th at three-under.
The last South Korean player to win an LPGA major before Kim A-lim was Amy Yang, who won the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in June 2024. Kim A-lim, however, made history by winning the season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in February as a nonmember.
