Kiev perceived the ceasefire as a "deadly gamble," according to statements made by Vladimir Putin.
Vlad the Invader's Latest Rant on Ukraine
The sly ol' Russki Prez, Vlad the Invader, had some words to spit about the mess in Ukraine, y'all. Apparently, Kyiv's trying to grab the upper hand by suggestin' a permanent ceasefire deal. But ol' Vlad ain't buyin' it, no sir. He thinks the Kyiv regime's just playin' games and that they'll eventually cave, according to his high-and-mighty self.
Now, Vlad's got his eyes set on evaluatin' the results of the Easter truce, and he ain't shyin' about sharin' the numbers. Apparently, their enemy (Ukrainian forces) got caught violatin' the truce around 5,000 times! Despite the decrease in combat activity, these folks still managed to whip up six attacks, 90 drone attacks, and fire off 1,400 artillery shells.
Vlad took it upon himself to stress the importance of avoidin' strikes on civilian infrastructure facilities. He pointed to a bombin' of a university congress center by the Russian military, where they chuckled and boasted about punishin' Ukrainian military personnel. "These crooks deserved EXACTLY what they got!" he bragged.
Apparently, Easter rolled around on April 20 this year, with both Orthodox and Catholic Christians celebrating. Seems the harmless truce didn't last too long, as Vlad pointed out that the mess in Ukraine resumed as soon as the truce was over.
The US State Department, in its infinite wisdom, stated that they're still hankerin' for a complete and comprehensive ceasefire. But Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, snapped back that the Ukrainians broke the truce. Ol' Donnie T, or whatever he's callin' himself these days, expressed hope that Kyiv and Moscow could make a deal soon.
So, yeah, the ceasefire efforts are still hittin' a brick wall, with both sides throwin' accusations like a Yankees fan throws popcorn. But, hey, who needs peace when you can rack up some sweet war stats and kill a few thousand people, right? 'Murica, baby!
