Art is a riveting play about three longtime friends—Serge, Marc, and Yvan—whose friendship is tested when Serge buys an expensive, all-white contemporary painting that Marc disparages, causing tension[1][5]. Yvan, the third friend, tries to mediate the conflict, highlighting themes of friendship, ego, and identity. This revival marks the first Broadway revival of Reza's 1998 play, originally translated by Christopher Hampton.
The star-studded cast features Tony nominee and Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale as Marc, Tony winner and Emmy winner James Corden as Yvan, and Tony winner and Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris as Serge[1][5].
Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Kid Harpoon, known for his work with Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus, has been enlisted to create original music for this Broadway revival[1][3][5]. Kid Harpoon, who won his first Grammy for his work on "Harry's House" by Harry Styles in 2023, has also produced Miley Cyrus' hit record "Flowers," which took home the record of the year trophy in 2023.
