Cudi testified about his personal experience related to Combs, primarily to support his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who was a central witness in the case.

Initially reluctant to testify, Cudi declined twice before being compelled by subpoena to appear in court. During his testimony, he claimed that Combs broke into his Hollywood Hills home in 2011 after learning about his relationship with Ventura. He also alleged that Combs was responsible for a Molotov cocktail firebombing of his car weeks later.

Combs was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. According to legal analysts, he will likely receive a significantly shorter sentence. Combs faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, but the exact sentence will be determined at a sentencing hearing set for Oct. 3.
