Kickoff of the new season highlighted
German District League Teams Kick Off New Season
The 2021-2022 season in the Bezirksliga Donau/Iller is set to begin on August 17, with TSG Ehingen and Schwarz-Weiß Donau both facing away and home matches, respectively.
TSG Ehingen, under the leadership of new coach Mario Sopic, will travel to FC Burlafingen for their opening fixture, while Schwarz-Weiß Donau will host TSV Langenau at their home ground. Both matches are scheduled for 3 pm.
Mario Sopic has been busy preparing his squad, conducting an extensive training program with the players, despite some being on vacation. He expresses satisfaction with the preparation and integration of the new players at TSG Ehingen. Tactically and playfully, the preparation has gone well for the team.
Schwarz-Weiß Donau, on the other hand, has a new coach in Christian Zittrel, who replaced Timm Walter. Zittrel is content with the team's unity and their focus for the season is on preventing too many goals against. Their primary goal is to achieve a good mid-table position.
Looking at recent performances, Schwarz-Weiß Donau drew 2-2 against FV Asch-Sonderbuch on June 7, 2025, while SG Öpfingen narrowly lost 3-4 to TSV Neu-Ulm in the same round of fixtures. As of the latest available information, there is no explicit data about TSG Ehingen's participation or results in these recent fixtures or their standing in the Bezirksliga Donau/Iller for the 2025 season.
In other news, Sven Neuwirth, formerly of SV Ringingen, is set to join Schwarz-Weiß Donau in the future. At SG Öpfingen, Steffen Lehmann will be joined by Jan-Luca Daur as a playing co-trainer.
TSG Ehingen had a positive victory against Landesliga team SV Mietingen, but suffered a negative defeat in the district cup against Schmiechtal/Alb. These results, while not from the current season, give an indication of the team's potential and areas they need to improve on.
As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on these three teams as they aim to make their mark in the Bezirksliga Donau/Iller. Fans and supporters are eagerly awaiting the opening matches on August 17.
