Exciting Kickoff for Air Spectacle at Vogelpark Walsrode
Kickoff of Air Display at Walsrode Bird Park's Debut Season - Kickoff of the bird park season in Walsrode showcasing avian acrobatics
Hey there!
The opening flight show of the season at the World Bird Park Walsrode was a smashing hit, drawing crowds of excited spectators. Spokesperson Janina Ehrhardt shared her thoughts on the day, "Theskiesareclear, the parking lot's brimming with life!" Indeed, eagles soared and a multitude of colorful parrots swooped overhead, with as many as 15 birds taking to the skies at once.
This season, the park is shaking things up with a fresh concept based on continental diversity. As Stefanie Alonso, the park's zoological director, explained, "We've given it a whirl, and the continents now claim their turf!" To create a unified experience, the park has integrated relevant flora, new signage, and regional context throughout the grounds.
You can expect exhilarating encounters with diverse bird species from all over the globe. The American corner features birds of prey, while Australia shows off budgerigars and a bush quail. Africa's corner boasts fascinating Madagascar species, while a soon-to-be-completed heath landscape area will showcase native species and moor sheep - a delightful small breed native to the region.
If you're a quail enthusiast, be sure to catch the newest addition to the park - the Italian quail, a subspecies thought to be extinct in the wild. New for 2023, many weekend areas of the park will also open during the winter months, giving visitors the chance to explore indoor attractions like the Paradise Hall, the Parrot House, and the Night Worlds. Lower entrance fees encourage you to drop by and discover tropical species!
Other local attractions like the Serengeti Park Hodenhagen and the Heide Park in Soltau are also eager to welcome visitors. If you're looking for a springtime adventure in the Wildpark Lüneburger Heide, don't miss the "Heide Himmel" tree-top path, which will celebrate the season with live music, interactive activities, and a forest discovery tour next weekend.
