Kickoff event for the International Cartoon Film Festival in Wiesbaden
In the heart of Wiesbaden, Biebrich Castle will play host to a unique event on November 6, 8 PM. Christoph Lauenstein, an Oscar-winning filmmaker from Hamburg, will present a selection of his artistic short films as part of the "Frame by Frame // A Look Behind the Scenes, Short Films by Oscar-winning Brothers Lauenstein."
Christoph Lauenstein, along with his twin brother Wolfgang, has been creating handmade animated films for 35 years. Their groundbreaking work has earned them numerous accolades, including an Oscar in 1990 for their short animation film "Balance." This film, still celebrated as a classic, was once seen as a perfect symbol of German reunification.
At the event, Christoph will discuss the hype surrounding "Balance" and the reason it took years for them to start their own independent film project again. He will also share insights into their foray into the world of long CGI films, on which they created two feature films as authors and directors.
The organising team for this event includes the German Film and Media Evaluation, the Wiesbaden City Culture Department, the Ministry of Science and Art of the State of Hesse, the Wiesbaden Cultural Foundation, HessenFilm and Medien GmbH, Omnimago GmbH, and the Friends of the Films in the Castle. The City of Wiesbaden's Press Office, located at Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden, is the publisher of the press release for the event.
Citizens with questions about the event can contact the responsible department or office. For more information and updates, visit the event's website at www.wiesbaden.de. The Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain is also offering support for the event.
Don't miss this opportunity to witness the artistic brilliance of Christoph Lauenstein and the Lauenstein brothers' groundbreaking work. Join us at Biebrich Castle, Rheingaustraße 140, East Wing, on November 6, 8 PM, for an unforgettable evening of short films.
