Max Verstappen Committed to Red Bull Racing Until 2028

Max Verstappen, the Dutch racing sensation, has agreed to continue his successful journey with Red Bull Racing, extending his contract until 2028. The news comes amidst a series of changes within the Red Bull team and a challenging season for the racing giant.

Verstappen, who joined Toro Rosso in 2015 and was promoted to Red Bull Racing the following year, has achieved an impressive 66 Grand Prix victories and four world championships so far. His dedication to the Red Bull family is evident, as he has expressed a desire to race with them until the end of his career.

Recently, Verstappen underwent driver's license training on the Nordschleife, the legendary Nürburgring circuit. Despite the car being slow due to a heavily restricted engine power and 150 kilograms of additional luggage, Verstappen remained positive about the experience. He even lost many places at the start of the race but followed driving instructions diligently, demonstrating his commitment to compliance with rules and regulations.

Sauber driver Gabriel Bortoleto, a friend of Verstappen, praised the Dutch driver's humility during the training. However, Bortoleto also gave Verstappen a playful dig, acknowledging the challenges faced by the racing star.

Meanwhile, Red Bull Racing will be using a self-developed powertrain for the first time in the upcoming season, during a year of significant regulation change. Despite the sporting struggles this year, Verstappen has remained committed to the team.

Rumours of a potential switch to Ferrari have circulated, but it is unlikely that Verstappen will make such a move unless Ferrari becomes a championship-winning team again. Instead, Verstappen is planning to compete in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring next year, provided he obtains the mandatory Nordschleifen license with an A-permit from the DMSB, as regulation requires for starts in the top GT3 class.

The departure of Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull since 2005, is one of the personnel changes at Red Bull. The exact reasons for Horner's dismissal are not yet clear, but the team is expected to announce a new team principal soon.

Despite the changes and challenges, Max Verstappen's commitment to Red Bull Racing remains unwavering, making him a key figure in the team's future success. His humility, dedication, and exceptional racing skills continue to make him a fan favourite and a formidable force on the racing circuit.

Verstappen also made personal news this year, becoming a father for the first time. The new father's focus remains undeterred, as he continues to push the boundaries of racing and strive for success with Red Bull Racing.
