Kharlin Sued Plays Big Stack to Perfection in WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Victory

Kharlin Sued has claimed victory at the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship, securing a first-place prize of $480,700. The final table unfolded at the Wynn Las Vegas as part of the WPT World Championship festival, where Sued dominated with a commanding chip lead from start to finish.

The tournament’s final stage saw six players compete for the title, with Sued entering as the clear favourite. His aggressive play and substantial chip advantage kept opponents under pressure throughout the event. Despite not studying his rivals beforehand, Sued relied on instinct and in-the-moment decisions to maintain control.

Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Chance Kornuth, originally from Palmdale, California, became the first player eliminated at the final table. His exit left the remaining five to battle for the top spots. Danny Wong, who finished in second place, pushed back with bold moves despite being at a chip disadvantage for much of the match. The final payouts reflected the intense competition: Sued took home $480,700, while Wong earned $315,000 for his runner-up finish. Alfie Poetra secured third place and $235,000, followed by Matthew Widdoes in fourth ($175,000), Daniel Maor in fifth ($132,000), and Kornuth in sixth ($101,000). Sued’s win adds to his already impressive career earnings, which now exceed $2.7 million in live tournament cashes. Meanwhile, the WPT’s annual December festival continues, with the WPT World Championship final table set for Sunday. Soheb Porbandarwala currently holds a dominant chip lead heading into that event.

Sued’s victory at the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship marks another high-stakes success in his poker career. With over $2.7 million in live tournament winnings, he solidifies his reputation as a formidable player. The WPT’s December festival will now shift focus to its final event, where Porbandarwala aims to follow in Sued’s winning footsteps.
