Khabarovsk’s giant Christmas tree takes shape despite freezing cold

Khabarovsk has started its annual New Year holiday preparations, with the city’s main Christmas tree now standing on Lenin Square. Despite freezing temperatures, workers have begun decorating the news tree, though the process remains in its early stages. The tree’s framework has been fully assembled, but crews are still attaching its 1,500 fir branches to shape its festive appearance. Teams from municipal services, cultural institutions, and local volunteer groups are all taking part in the effort. Once fully decorated, the tree will become the centrepiece of Khabarovsk’s New Year festivities. The combined efforts of city workers and volunteers ensure the tradition continues, even in harsh winter conditions.
