Khabarovsk Krai's May holiday offers adventure, history and honey for all ages
Residents of Khabarovsk Krai will enjoy a three-day break from May 9 to 11. The long weekend offers a mix of outdoor adventures, educational trips, and historical excursions for all ages. Activities range from mountain hikes to interactive beekeeping tours and wartime history lessons. On May 10, a themed excursion titled The Furry Soldiers of Victory will explore the role of dogs in the Great Patriotic War. Visitors can expect a slideshow, a guided tour of kennels, and introductions to northern sled dogs. The event is open to families and requires no prior training.
A day later, on May 11, two distinct trips are planned. The *Visit the Bees* apiary tour invites participants aged six and older to learn about bee colonies, taste fresh honey, and discover how hives function. Meanwhile, a more active option—the *Rafting on the Anyuy River—Nadge Rocks—Peak 1100* tour—combines whitewater rafting, trekking, rock climbing, and a summit ascent. The adventure also includes camping, fishing, and a bonfire, all suitable for children as young as six. For those seeking a challenge, a hike up Mount Sinukha is scheduled for the same day. The 8-kilometre one-way route is beginner-friendly but open only to participants aged 12 and above.
The three-day break provides a variety of experiences, from nature and history to hands-on learning. Each activity is designed to accommodate different age groups and interests. No special preparation is needed for most events, making them accessible to families and casual participants alike.
