Kerry Katona weeps on Celebs Go Dating due to distressing romantic sorrows
In the latest season of Celebs Go Dating, former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona shares her heartbreak and resilience in the dating world. Kerry's emotional journey on the show, which airs on E4 and is available on Channel 4 on Demand, sheds light on her tumultuous romantic history and her ability to bounce back.
Throughout the series, Kerry discusses her past relationships, including her third marriage to George Kay, from 2014 to 2017, which ended in domestic abuse. She also mentions her relationship with Ryan Mahoney, a fitness trainer, whom she met later and was engaged to in 2020. Their four-year relationship ended in 2024 due to a "breach in trust," as Ryan moved out of her home.
Kerry describes Ryan as a stabilising and positive influence in her life, but admits that he was not emotionally present in their relationship. The split left her devastated, as she revealed during her conversation with the Celebs Go Dating experts.
Despite these challenges, Kerry is proud of her resilience, having been married three times before her relationship with Ryan. Her first marriage was to Brian McFadden, former Westlife singer, in 2004 when she was 21. They have daughters Molly and Lilly together. Kerry was also married to Mark Croft from 2007 to 2011 and had sons Maxwell and Heidi with him.
Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, a psychologist on the show, tells Kerry that she has gone through "trauma" that might feel like "10 lifetimes." Kerry's emotional reactions on the show demonstrate her strength and vulnerability as she navigates the dating world, seeking new connections while healing from past heartaches.
The dating drama on Celebs Go Dating highlights Kerry's journey, from her desire for "little things" in a relationship, not material possessions like diamond rings, to her emotional struggles and eventual resilience. Although her relationships have been publicly scrutinised, Kerry continues to show her courage and determination, making her a compelling figure in the dating reality series.
