Darts-WM: Kenianer verrechnet sich und siegt sensationell - Kenyan UnderDog Stuns PDC World Championship with Historic Comeback

A Kenyan veterinary surgeon has stunned the world news with a historic victory at the 2026 PDC World Championship. David Munyua, known as Why Not, fought back from a 0–2 deficit to beat Belgian Mike De Decker 3–2 in a thrilling comeback at London’s Alexandra Palace. Munyua, a 35-year-old from near Nairobi, became the first Kenyan ever to compete at the World Championship. His debut match took an unexpected turn when he miscalculated his score twice, even celebrating prematurely after a 135 checkout—only to realise he still needed ten more points. Munyua’s victory makes him the first Kenyan to advance in the PDC World Championship. The win not only secures his place in the next round but also puts African darts on the global stage. His underdog story and the crowd’s support have already made this a standout moment of the tournament.
