Kelly Clarkson Postpones Las Vegas Residency Concerts Following Ex-Husband's Passing

American singer Kelly Clarkson has announced the postponement of the remainder of her August 2025 Las Vegas residency concerts at Caesars Palace, following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager, passed away from cancer after a brave three-year battle with the disease. His death was announced by his father's company, Starstruck Entertainment, on Thursday.

Clarkson, who won the first season of the American reality TV show "American Idol" in 2002, has been open about Blackstock's illness in recent months. She feels the need to be there for her children, River Rose (11) and Remington Alexander (9), during this difficult time.

The remaining August dates (August 8–9 and August 15–16) were postponed as announced on August 6, 2025. However, the Las Vegas residency shows scheduled for the fall of 2025 (November 7–8 and 14–15) are still listed as upcoming, and there are also dates booked for July and August 2026.

Caesars Palace and The Colosseum have communicated that ticket holders affected by the cancellations have options to either hold onto their tickets for 2026 shows or request refunds within a 30-day window. Both the venue and Clarkson have expressed appreciation for fans’ understanding and have publicly wished the best for Kelly and her family during this difficult time.

It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Clarkson has had to reschedule commitments due to personal issues. Earlier in the year, she missed episodes of her talk show, which was covered by guest hosts, without a public explanation.

Blackstock was not only Clarkson's ex-husband but also the father of her two children. He also had two other children from a previous marriage. Clarkson and Blackstock were married for seven years before separating in 2020 and finalizing their divorce in 2022.

Throughout her career, Clarkson has gained worldwide fame as a singer and television host. She has maintained a relatively private personal life, but has spoken out about her struggles and triumphs, making her a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.

Despite the tragic passing of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson has decided to postpone her upcoming Las Vegas residency concerts, putting her focus on being there for their children. This may also affect her entertainment schedule, as it serves as a reminder of the challenges celebrities often face in balancing their professional and personal lives.
