Keller assumes leadership role at DGAP's Security and Defense Centre

Patrick Keller, a seasoned expert in Germany's security and defense policy, has been appointed as the Head of the Center for Security and Defense at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP). Keller's expertise encompasses a broad range of topics, including German, European, and transatlantic security and defense policy, integrated security, total defense, armaments cooperation, and technological innovation in future conflict scenarios. The center also studies the security dynamics between the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions.

Keller's background in politics and communications is evident from his previous roles. Prior to his current position, he served as Head of Politics and Communications at the BDLI, Vice President of the BAKS, and Head of the Speeches & Texts Division in the BMVG's leadership staff. His research work includes papers on NATO's mission in Afghanistan, indicating a long-standing engagement with NATO and international security issues dating back to at least 2009.

Keller will commence his new role at the DGAP on July 1, 2025. The DGAP, known for its focus on foreign policy matters, is an organization recognised for its work in the field of security and defense.
