Tournament to be held this fall in Thailand

The Sana Sport complex in Astana hosted the Central Asian qualifying tournament for the FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup, featuring teams of players under 18.

National squads from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan competed in the event.

Following the tournament, Kazakhstan's team secured first place. Uzbekistan took silver, while Kyrgyzstan earned bronze.

As a result, the Kazakh squad has qualified for the FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup, scheduled for September 2026 in Thailand.

Hosting the qualifying tournament in Astana marked a significant milestone for the development of women's basketball in the country. The competition was organized to FIBA's high standards, with international referees from South Korea and Mongolia officiating the matches.
