Kazakhstan’s New Arts School Transforms a Village’s Cultural Future

A new music-focused arts school has officially opened in the village of Temirlan, Ordabasy District. The modern facility replaces an old, unsafe building from 1974 and will serve as a key cultural centre for local children. High-ranking officials attended the ceremony to mark its launch.

The Temirlan Arts School was built at a cost of over 870 million tenge (around $1.9 million). Funding came entirely from recovered state assets, following President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s directives. The Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation also contributed to the project.

The school’s opening marks a significant upgrade from the old, unsafe structure it replaces. With modern facilities and a focus on arts education, it will serve as an important resource for the community. The project reflects ongoing efforts to reinvest recovered state funds into local development initiatives.
