Kazakhstan is strengthening its role in global trade and energy while expanding ties with Europe and Central Asia. Recent developments include new infrastructure projects, record tourism growth, and strategic agreements with international partners. These moves highlight the country’s growing influence in regional connectivity and economic cooperation.

A recent roundtable in the European Parliament focused on deepening EU-Kazakhstan ties through the Middle Corridor. Titled Strengthening EU-Kazakhstan Connectivity: Perspectives and Strategic Potential of the Middle Corridor, the event underscored the route’s importance for Europe’s trade links and geopolitical resilience. The corridor also supports broader initiatives, including China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), as noted by Azerbaijan Railways Chairman Rovshan Rustamov.

Kazakhstan’s recent agreements and infrastructure projects reinforce its position as a key player in regional trade and energy. The Middle Corridor’s expansion, combined with strategic partnerships, is set to enhance connectivity between Europe and Central Asia. These steps also signal deeper economic integration with global markets.
