Buckle up, sports fans! Talgat Orynbassar, a 19-year-old Kazakhstani judo sensation, was a force to be reckoned with at the recently concluded Qazaqstan Barysy Grand Slam judo tournament held in their very own Nur-Sultan.

In the thrilling -60kg weight category, Orynbassar made it to the final bout, showing immense determination and skill throughout the competition day. Unfortunately, his final opponent, Russian judoka Iznaur Saaev, proved to be a tough nut to crack. Saaev emerged victorious with a score of 10:0, leaving Orynbassar with a well-deserved silver medal.

But let's not lose sight of Orynbassar's impressive track record. He's no stranger to clinching bronze medals, having done so three times at the World Youth Championships and winning the European Youth Cup.

Interestingly, Magjan Shamshadin and Aman Bakytzhan also managed to secure bronze medals in the same weight category at the tournament in Nur-Sultan.

Keep an eye on Talgat Orynbassar. This silver medal win at a Grand Slam event, one of the most prestigious on the International Judo Federation (IJF) World Tour, solidifies his reputation as a strong contender and a top dog in the -60kg class, both in Kazakhstan and on the international judo scene.
