Kazakhstan's Athletes Get Year-Round Gear in Landmark Sports Initiative

Kazakhstan has launched a new programme to supply its national athletes with year-round sports equipment. The initiative, starting in 2026, replaces the old system where gear was provided only for specific seasons. Under Armour has partnered with the country to deliver the kits under a fresh agreement. The updated support system ensures every athlete receives a full set of 18 items. These kits cover both summer and winter apparel, along with essential training equipment. Previously, Kazakh competitors only got seasonal gear, which limited their preparation.

The new equipment has already reached several national teams. Sports including athletics, boxing, judo, fencing, and short track have begun receiving the supplies. Funding for the programme comes entirely from extrabudgetary sources, avoiding state budget reliance. Gusman Kyrgyzbaev, a judo bronze medallist from the Paris Olympics, shared his enthusiasm for the change. He described the initiative as a major step forward for Kazakh athletes. The Ministry of Sport has stated that the goal is to create equal, high-quality training conditions for all national team members.

The programme aims to boost Kazakhstan's international performance by providing consistent, high-standard gear. While the exact number of athletes benefiting remains unconfirmed, the first phase has already begun. The partnership with Under Armour marks a shift in how the country supports its competitors.
