Nurtleu expressed Kazakhstan's eagerness to capitalize on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route for grain exports, aiming to supply a variety of products like grains, cereals, oilseeds, high-quality meat, and organic goods to the African markets. This step could potentially amplify trade flows between the two nations.

Delving further into the discussion, both ministers focused on improving trade connections to spur economic growth in Sierra Leone.

The IT and digitization sector is also on the radar, with both countries exploring opportunities for cooperation through Central Asia's flagship IT hub, Astana Hub. Last year, Kazakhstan's Agency for International Development shared pieces of its e-Gov platform with Sierra Leone following the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

Nurtleu expressed gratitude for Kabba's backing in co-sponsoring the UN General Assembly resolution on the creation of the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty. He also reiterated Astana's resolve to intensify cooperation in sustainable development and to participate in global initiatives.

Closing the negotiations, the parties penned the Roadmap for Cooperation between their respective foreign ministries, setting the stage for a more agile and collaborative undertaking.

This diary of events underlines the burgeoning bilateral relationship between Kazakhstan and Sierra Leone, with a convergence of interests in varied spheres such as trade, IT, and sustainable development.
