Kazakhstan streamlines trade with new EAEU customs transit agreement

Kazakhstan has ratified the Agreement on a Unified Customs Transit System for the Eurasian Economic Union and Third Parties, signed on December 26, 2024, in St. Petersburg, according to the chamber's press service, as reported by our website.

The document establishes a unified customs transit framework designed to create favorable conditions for the transportation of goods across the customs borders of the EAEU and third countries.

The system incorporates several key elements: - The use of a single electronic transit declaration; - A standardized procedure for securing the payment of customs duties and taxes; - The application of navigation seals to track shipments throughout their entire route; - Mutual recognition of customs authorities' decisions and inspection results.

The implementation of the system is expected to streamline and standardize customs procedures, reducing both time and financial costs for businesses engaged in transit operations. It will also accelerate information exchange, enhance the security and efficiency of deliveries, and provide greater predictability in procedures for participants in international trade.
