ASTANA - Kazakhstan's national team stormed the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, leaving a trail of shimmering medals. On February 11 alone, they dazzled the crowd with two golden, one silvery, and one bronzy trophies!
Photogenic duo Sherzod Khashirbayev and Roman Ivanov, wielding grace under pressure, delivered a historical win in the Men's Freestyle Acrobatics’ synchronized jumps, bagging gold! In the Women's Freestyle Skiing, Ardana Makhanova and Ayana Zholdas nabbed a bronze medal.
Post-ceremony, an exuberant Khashirbayev thanked the heroes at home and unveiled his future plans, dishing to Kazinform. He declared, "Our next objective is the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. We'll keep on training and leave no stone unturned to secure an Olympic slot."
Adding to the golden sheen, Vladislav Kireyev claimed a gold medal in the Biathlon Men’s 10-kilometer sprint, with Vadim Kurales securing silver.
The following day, the women’s Cross-Country Skiing team shone with a silver medal win in the 4×5 kilometer relay. Ksenia Shalygina, Kamila Yelgazinova, Angelina Shuryga, and Nadezhda Stepashkina lit up the track, contributing to this monumental achievement.
The men’s Cross-Country Skiing team joined the celebration with a bronze medal. The powerhouse team included Konstantin Bortsov, Nail Bashmakov, Olzhas Klimin, and Vladislav Kovalev.
Since the games' inception, the Kazakh athletes have scooped up three gold, seven silver, and five bronze medals.
