Kazakhstan & Germany Streamline Military Field Allowances

New rules have been implemented for paying field allowances to military personnel in Kazakhstan. Effective October 4, 2025, eligible personnel will receive 4,718 tenge per day spent 'in the field', which is 1.2 times the Monthly Reference Payment (MRP). This change aims to simplify and accelerate payments for military personnel involved in various deployments and exercises.

The new regulations, outlined in a ministerial order, state that field allowances are not reimbursement for travel expenses and are applicable regardless of location, including sea deployments, exercises, or voyages. These allowances are paid within 7 working days after returning to the duty station, based on the commander's order for field deployment.

In Germany, a similar order was issued on September 26, 2025, by General Carsten Breuer, the General Inspector of the Bundeswehr. This order, titled 'Implementation Order for the Amendment of Rules for Payment of Cash Amounts to Federal Troops in Germany', aims to simplify and accelerate payments to military personnel involved in civil catastrophe and special missions within Germany. It will come into effect on October 1, 2025.

Both Kazakhstan and Germany have updated their rules for paying field allowances to military personnel. These changes aim to streamline the payment process and ensure timely compensation for personnel involved in various deployments and missions. The new rules in Kazakhstan are effective from October 4, 2025, while the German order will come into effect on October 1, 2025.
