Kazakhstan dominates inaugural Badminton Asia Awards with double victory

Indonesia hosted the annual Badminton Asia General Assembly, where the results of the past year were reviewed and key priorities for the development of badminton in the region were outlined.

The 2026 conference marked a historic milestone with the introduction of a new awards system—recognizing, for the first time in the event's history, outstanding achievements by athletes and professionals who have made significant contributions to the growth of badminton in Asia.

Kazakhstan made an immediate impact in the inaugural year of the awards, securing two prestigious honors.

The winners from Kazakhstan were: • Best Player in the Asia Olympic Program – Dmitry Panarin • Best Coach – Askar Ormanov

This achievement underscores the high level of badminton development in Kazakhstan and the effectiveness of the systematic work carried out by the national federation, coaching staff, and athletes.
