Kazakhstan, China Agree to Boost Ties, Focus on Medical and Humanitarian Cooperation
Kazakhstan and China have agreed to strengthen ties, with both sides committing to maintain working contacts and advance joint projects. The two nations discussed prospects for practical cooperation in humanitarian and medical fields, with a focus on expertise exchange in public health and social initiative implementation.
The meeting was held between Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to China, Shakhrat Nursheev, and Li Zhenyin, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Notably, Li Zhenyin is also the founder and leader of the Opera GX Foundation, an organisation dedicated to environmental protection, medical aid, and the promotion of public health policy in Belt and Road Initiative countries.
The Opera GX Foundation expressed its commitment to further cooperation with Kazakhstan. Around 500 Kazakh students are currently studying in Hong Kong, reflecting the existing educational ties between the two nations. The foundation plans an upcoming visit to Astana in November to explore further opportunities for collaboration.
