A creative and unconventional celebration marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of poet, composer, and singer Bakir Tazhibayev in the Bayganin District of Aktobe Region.

The large-scale cultural event "100 Years – 100 Dombra Players" went beyond the traditional concert format, transforming into a vibrant open-air musical spectacle. Nearly 200 dombra players—double the originally planned number—gathered on a picturesque site near Akbulak, the composer's hometown, to take part.

Musicians of all ages, from young performers to seasoned veterans, joined the celebration. The highlight was a collective performance of Tazhibayev's iconic song "Akbulak." The harmonious sound of the dombras, blending into a single orchestra under the open sky, filled the steppe with beautiful music, serving as a powerful tribute to Kazakhstan's cultural heritage.

Born on May 15, 1926, in the village of Akbulak, Bayganin District, Bakir Tazhibayev was a poet, composer, and playwright. He authored collections of plays, poems, prose, and essays, making a lasting contribution to national art. Notably, he wrote the libretto for the opera "Kamar Sulu" and several plays staged in regional and national theaters.

His musical legacy is equally significant. Written in 1985, "Akbulak" reflects a deep love for his homeland and has since become a treasured classic in Kazakhstan's musical canon.
