25-Year-Old Kyzylorda Athlete Arailym Orazbay Wins Gold at Asian Belt Wrestling Championship

Arailym Orazbay, a 25-year-old athlete from Kyzylorda, delivered a stunning performance at the Asian Belt Wrestling (alysh) Championship, securing the gold medal. The continental tournament in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, brought together over 150 top athletes from 12 countries, but in the over-75 kg weight class, Orazbay faced no equal.

Her path to victory demanded peak focus: she fought four matches, defeating opponents from Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Japan, and Uzbekistan in succession. This triumph marked a brilliant comeback after last year's final in New Delhi, where she fell just short of the title.

The achievement is all the more remarkable given that Orazbay balances elite sports with her service in law enforcement. Currently a police captain, she serves as an inspector with the SOBR (Special Rapid Response Unit) of the Kyzylorda Regional Police Department. A master of sports in judo, sambo, and belt wrestling, she once again proved her world-class skill—this time in Kyrgyzstan, the historic birthplace of alysh.
