Janibek Alimkhanuly Continues His Dominance in the Middleweight Division
Hailing from Kazakhstan, southpaw star Janibek Alimkhanuly is swiftly emerging as one of the middleweight division's leading figures.
Alimkhanuly, nicknamed "Qazaq Style," has earned a fearsome reputation as an unbeaten force, with top fighters unwilling to step into the ring with him. This so-called "boogeyman" of the division boasts a dynamic combination of technical prowess, explosive power, and an iron will.
In April 2025, Alimkhanuly continued his reign of terror in the ring, halting Anauel Ngamissengue in the fifth round at Barys Arena, Astana, Kazakhstan. The decisive knockout victory secured his 17th professional win and cemented his status as the WBO and IBF middleweight world champion.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised Alimkhanuly's valiant performance, saying the entire nation shares a collective sense of pride over the athlete's achievement. Ruslan Zheldibay, the Kazakh President's press secretary, affirmed Tokayev's sentiments, noting Alimkhanuly's fortitude and outstanding level of skill.
In his post-fight comments, a grateful Alimkhanuly expressed gratitude to his supporters and the Kazakh people.
"The fight took place on my native land, in Astana. We wanted to give the audience an exciting fight, and now you have witnessed it. Once again, I thank everyone," he said.
Alimkhanuly's manager, Berik Sultan, echoed the president's words, expressing pride in the historic victory and the potential to claim all four championship belts.
The affair wasn't limited to Alimkhanuly's crowning achievement. Other Kazakh fighters like Batyr Dzhukembayev, Balausa Muzdiman, Torehan Sabyrkhan, Makhmud Sabyrkhan, and Alisher Abdulalim all celebrated emphatic victories of their own.
With the WBA and WBC middleweight titles currently held by champions Erislandy Lara and Carlos Adames, Alimkhanuly may set his sights on unification and eternal dominance within the division.
