Kazakh President Congratulates Orthodox Christians on Christmas
Kazakhstan's President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, extended his warm greetings to the country's Orthodox Christians on the celebration of Christmas on January 7. In his message, Tokayev highlighted the importance of the holiday in uniting believers and pursuing humanism's high ideals.
According to Tokayev, Orthodox people seek to demonstrate care and attention to their loved ones during this festive season. They strive to show mercy and compassion to those in need, embodying the holiday's values of goodness and hope.
The President believes that harmony and mutual understanding, which are prevalent in Kazakh society, provide a reliable basis for the sustainable progress of the country. Orthodoxy, he said, contributes significantly to strengthening the unity and solidarity of Kazakhstan's people. It promotes the values of patriotism, creativity, and responsibility, fostering a sense of collective responsibility among the citizens.
Tokayev also mentioned the Ascension Cathedral in Almaty, a significant Orthodox landmark in the country, although he did not provide specific details about it in this context.
