Kazakhstan's jiu-jitsu fighters have made a significant mark at the 2025 World Games held in Chengdu, China, from August 7 to 17. The athletes brought home several notable achievements, most notably Kazakhstan's first gold medal in the 69-kilogram weight category.

Zhanibek Abu-Bakir's Gold Medal Triumph

Zhanibek Abu-Bakir secured the coveted gold medal in the 69-kilogram weight category. In a thrilling final bout, he defeated Farid Ben Ali from France with a score of 12:9, earning him the title of world champion. The Sports and Physical Culture Committee's press service reported the news of his win.

Nursultan Duisenkulov's Silver Medal

In the 77-kilogram weight category, Nursultan Duisenkulov fought valiantly but was defeated by Denmark’s Lucas Andersen with a score of 11:15 in the final bout. Despite the loss, Duisenkulov still managed to bring home a silver medal for Kazakhstan.

Medals in Ne-Waza Discipline

The 77-kilogram category also saw success in the ne-waza discipline, with Bolatbek Seyilkhan earning a bronze medal. Aslan Kanatbek also secured a bronze in the 62-kilogram category.
