Kazakh Cinema Days in Antalya Celebrates History Through Film and Tradition

Kazakh Cinema Days recently took place in Antalya, Turkey, with backing from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Culture and Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm Studios. The event featured screenings of three films that highlight the country's rich history and traditions, drawing a diverse local and international crowd.

The festival showcased The Sword of the Steppe, a film dedicated to Khan Kasym, son of Khan Zhanibek and one of the founders of the Kazakh Khanate. Alongside it, audiences watched The Land of the Ancestors and Again, both exploring Kazakhstan's cultural heritage. The screenings attracted officials, business leaders, diplomats, and Kazakh students living in Antalya.

Kuat Kanayev, Kazakhstan's Consul General in Antalya, remarked that the films help deepen cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Turkey. The event provided a platform for sharing stories rooted in Kazakh history with a Turkish audience.

The festival successfully introduced Kazakh cinema to Antalya's public and diplomatic circles. By featuring historical and cultural narratives, the screenings reinforced connections between the two nations. Organisers aim to continue such cultural festivals in the future.
