In the heart of Germany, Katja Mast, a member of the German Bundestag, is rallying for the preservation of social facilities and services in the regions of Pforzheim and Calw. Her efforts are aimed at protecting vulnerable populations such as refugees, recipients of social benefits, and the unemployed, who are disproportionately affected by potential budget cuts.

Mast, a representative of the SPD, has been vocal about the negative consequences of budget tightening on social structures, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and social rights. She has been actively involved in regional initiatives and demonstrations against austerity measures that could lead to social exclusion.

One of her key concerns is the potential impact of relief measures on social facilities. She has been outspoken against the introduction of exclusionary payment cards for social benefits and has fought for adequate social security provisions in the region. Mast has also been a strong advocate for the introduction of a basic child allowance to combat child poverty more effectively, a move supported by the SPD.

In a joint effort, Mast, along with representatives from churches, trade unions, and other civil society groups, has spoken out against austerity's social impact at events in Pforzheim. They advocate for the maintenance and strengthening of social services and infrastructure.

In response to previously implemented relief measures, Oliver Keppler, the spokesperson of the regional association of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband, penned a letter to members of the Bundestag from the Pforzheim and Calw regions. The letter demands that Bundestag members use their influence to draw attention to the dramatic consequences of planned cuts and asks them to address these concerns in the Bundestag.

Mast has assured that there will be no cuts in social security systems such as pensions, health and long-term care insurance. She will communicate these concerns to her colleagues in the SPD parliamentary group responsible for the respective individual plans. The Paritätischer is asking Bundestag members to prevent further deterioration and at least prevent cuts in social facilities.

The next federal budget is under intense negotiations, marked by consolidation and a planned reduction of around 30 billion euros to 445.7 billion euros. Mast's fight for social justice in the Pforzheim and Calw regions continues as she works tirelessly to ensure the well-being of her constituents.
