Trainer Robert Gleeson has announced that his greyhound, Droopys Kathleen, will be entering a trial stakes race next, following a impressive pre-race trial performance at the new Dunstall Park stadium.

Droopys Kathleen, who has returned from a long spell off the card, broke the 480m record in her trial, running a time of 27.82 seconds. This time is faster than the current record of 28.46 seconds, set by Over Thebarpaddy. However, the trial time was not recognized as a new record as only graded racing has taken place at Dunstall Park.

Despite the impressive time, there is no information available about whether Droopys Kathleen won the race or if she will be competing in the first public meeting for the new venue.

Trainer Robert Gleeson expressed his satisfaction with Droopys Kathleen's performance, calling her a "machine" on her best day. He also stated that the immediate focus is on ensuring the greyhound's health after the trial, and the plan will be reassessed once her health has been checked.

According to Gleeson, Droopys Kathleen is expected to be fine in the morning following the trial. He also shared his excitement about having her back in racing, and although he did not provide any specific expectations for her future races, he did say that he plans to enter her in a trial stakes next.

Robert Gleeson's comments about Droopys Kathleen's performance were made to Shaun Reynold's of Fortitude Communications. The statement does not indicate that Droopys Kathleen's health check has been completed or if she will compete in the first public meeting for the new venue.

Regardless, the impressive performance by Droopys Kathleen has certainly caught the attention of greyhound racing fans, and everyone will be eagerly waiting to see if she can repeat her form in her next race.
