Katharina Stark, a 25-year-old actress hailing from Munich, has earned a spot as one of the "European Shooting Stars" at this year's Berlinale. She was hand-picked by the European Film Promotion, joining seven other European actresses and three male colleagues in this prestigious program.

The European Film Promotion's goal with this program is to spotlight ten rising talents at the annual International Film Festival in Berlin. During the Berlinale (held from February 15 to 25), these promising individuals are provided with an exclusive program designed to boost their visibility and network within the industry. The schedule includes meetings with international casting agencies, talent agents, and production managers.

Katharina Stark's journey in acting began at a young age and was further honed at the Otto Falckenberg School. She has also graced the stage at Munich's Kammerspiele and has featured in various films such as "King Laurin," "Luna," "Dead Girls Dancing," and television productions. Most recently, she starred as translator Eva Bruhns in the mini-series "Deutsches Haus."

According to the "European Shooting Stars" jury, Katharina's portrayal of Eva Bruhns is noteworthy, as she delivers an emotive and challenging role with great ease. Her understated yet realistic performance effectively conveys the complexity of the character.

Joining Katharina beneath the Berlinale spotlight are Thibaud Dooms (Belgium), Margarita Stoykova (Bulgaria), Suzy Bemba (France), Salome Demuria (Georgia), Éanna Hardwicke (Ireland), Valentina Bellè (Italy), Džiugas Grinys (Lithuania), Kamila Urzędowska (Poland), and Asta Kamma August (Sweden).

Notable previous German "Shooting Stars" include Daniel Brühl, Anna Maria Mühe, Moritz Bleibtreu, Jella Haase, Albrecht Schuch, and Emilio Sakraya. Last year, Leonie Benesch graced the Berlinale stage as a "Shooting Star."

With her upcoming appearance at the Berlinale, Katharina Stark will be showcasing her talents in front of an international audience. This influential festival, known for celebrating and recognizing rising talent, is the perfect stage for the 25-year-old Munich native to present herself to the world.
