Katharina Reinhold Elected New Landrat of Rhine-Kreis Neuss
Katharina Reinhold (CDU) has been elected as the new Landrat (district administrator) of Rhine-Kreis Neuss. She won the runoff election on September 28, securing 62.76% of the votes countywide, with Hakan Temel (SPD) receiving 37.24%.
The runoff was required as no candidate achieved an absolute majority in the municipal election on September 14. In the final round, Reinhold received strong support in Meerbusch, where she won with 70.70% of the votes, while Temel got 29.30%.
Overall, the voter turnout in Rhine-Kreis Neuss was 34.17%, with Meerbusch recording a turnout of 27.7%.
Katharina Reinhold's victory marks a significant change in the district's leadership. She will now oversee the administration of Rhine-Kreis Neuss, with her term set to begin soon.
