Katharina Fritsch to Receive Kaiser Ring Award in Goslar on October 11th
On October 11th, 2023, Katharina Fritsch will receive the prestigious Kaiser Ring award from the city of Goslar. The presentation will take place during a public session of the city council at 11 am in the Kaiserpfalz. All are welcome to attend the free event, with no registration required.
The ceremony will begin with a video retrospective showcasing 50 years of the Kaiser Ring. Prof. Marion Ackermann, president of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, will deliver the laudation for Katharina Fritsch. The musical accompaniment will be provided by a jazz trio and a solo cellist, adding a touch of elegance to the occasion.
Following the presentation, an exhibition of Fritsch's work will open at the Moenchehaus Museum, also with free admission. The exhibition, 'Half a Century of Kaiser Ring - A Retrospective from the Perspective of the City of Goslar', is currently on display at the Kulturmarktplatz Goslar, Room Beroun, and will run until October 19th.
Dr. Wolfram Weimer, Minister of State for Culture and Media, has been invited by Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Olaf Lies to deliver a greeting speech during the ceremonial presentation. Lies himself will also give a greeting speech at the event.
