The Princess of Wales, Kate, made a shining appearance today at the VE Day memorial in London. She was joined by her husband, Prince William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, after Prince Harry's plea for 'reconciliation.'

King Charles and Queen Camilla were also present for the commemorations marking the end of World War II in Europe.

Kate, 43, looked radiant in a berry ensemble, sporting a matching Sean Barrett pillbox hat with a bow, beige Gianvito Rossi 105 pointed pumps, and earrings. To honor her family's RAF roots, she wore a gold winged RAF brooch, as her paternal grandfather Peter Middleton served as a fighter pilot during the second world war.

The Princess sat with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, while observing the military procession along the Mall. She was also seen having a hearty chat with 101-year-old Bernard Morgan, Ambassador for the Royal British Legion, who was the youngest RAF sergeant to land on D-Day.

Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, 7, helped William stay sharp by brushing off his uniform on the specially built dais on the Queen Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace while thousands of people packed the streets as four days of commemorations began.

Activities included a flypast of iconic RAF planes and a tea party hosted by King Charles for some of the last living heroes of World War II and their families.

Despite Harry's legal dispute over his round-the-clock police bodyguard in the UK, the plans for the Royal Family's participation in the VE Day commemorations were already in place. Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, showed her support by posting a photo of him and their children on Instagram.

The position of senior royals at the forefront of VE Day commemorations aimed to refocus attention on their unifying role and positive contribution to public life, away from Harry's recent claims.
